Ronan is a founding member of the Belfast Ensemble and a professional freelance percussionist and ensemble performer.

He works at the highest level across a range of styles, collaborating with orchestras, contemporary ensembles, opera companies, chamber groups, dance companies, and folk, jazz, and rock artists. He regularly performs classical and contemporary repertoire with the Ulster Orchestra, the National Symphony Orchestra of Ireland, and the RTÉ Concert Orchestra.

Ronan also performs contemporary and chamber music with Hard Rain Soloist Ensemble and The Fews Ensemble.

Opera is another key area of his work, with frequent performances for Irish National Opera, Wexford Festival Opera, and NI Opera. Ronan has performed internationally with the contemporary dance company Hofesh Shechter Company, touring to Hong Kong, Tokyo, and Lyon.

Alongside performing, Ronan is a passionate music education facilitator, delivering workshops across NI.
