GROUP!

GROUP! The Musical

Created by Conor Mitchell
Book by Conor Mitchell & Matthew Hurt

March / April 2026

A riotous, razor-sharp, hilarious night out.

GROUP! fuses a sh*t hot cast, live band, bright lights, big dance numbers and Belfast’s classic dark humour -  bringing together the city’s top talent to make you laugh so hard you wet yourself.

A group therapy session spirals into hilarious havoc when a cocktail of deeply dysfunctional and unpredictable personalities collide.
Pioneering composer & theatre-maker Conor Mitchell joins forces with his Belfast Ensemble for GROUP! The Musical.

Blending Mitchell’s socially-satirical writing with his stylish and lusciously orchestrated score, GROUP! presents a vibrant, honest, and hilarious portrait of modern Belfast - and the f*cked up people that make the city sing.

Audiences will laugh, cry, and connect as our cast of seven misfits process their trauma, and speak their minds.

GROUP! takes the caustic humour of Book of Mormon & Avenue Q and deliciously laces it with Belfast’s accent, politics, and friction.

The drama (and damn, is there drama....) is amplified by Alan Menken style ballads, Busby Berkeley big-band numbers, and sophistically scored Sondheim infused belters.

This is Derry Girls meets Hacks meets Jerry Springer: The Opera - with its very own Andrew Tate inspired tap number.

Harnessing their trademark multi-disciplinary approach, Belfast Ensemble have created an “eye-popping” new musical that showcases the city’s finest vocal, instrumental, design, and technical talents.

Fused with live-wire social themes connecting with the manosphere, IVF, PTSD, and addiction, GROUP! deftly treads the tightrope of Belfast’s classic dark humour to create side-splitting, visually stunning, aurally electric chaos.
